For some, God seems hidden. Some Christians have tried to respond to this objection by saying that if God would appear, it would some how "force our hand" to belief and this would be a tacit violation of free-will. Is this a good response to the challenge? Like with the problem of evil/suffering, I think the freewill defense is not only lacking, but downright demonstrably false.
